Crafted in lead-glazed earthenware on a white body from Creil, Oise, and Montereau, also known as Criel ware or Creil-Montereau faience, the decorative plate emulates the creamware pottery of 18th century Wedgwood. The plate is further accentuated with a thick yellow painted rim with black lined highlights on the front and an impressed mark on the plate’s reverse.
