Shop this trinquons French earthenware creil plate for sale. Dated to the 19th century, this antique plate with a French literate theme, with transfer printed letters against a cream-white ground. The edge of the plate features a thick yellow glazed rim with black lines.
The plate features the inscription “Trinquons, air: La Calacoua. Wonderful antique French decor known as creil-montereau faience a lead-glazed earthenware on a white ground made in the French communes of Creil, Oise, and of Montereau. The style sought to emulate the creamware of Wedgwood during the 18th century. The plate a wonderful addition to the French provincial style.
