FSA farm photograph. This silver print photograph by FSA photographer John Vachon for sale is titled “Grandfather of tenant farmer family, North Carolina” The original photograph is dated April 1938 in the Library of Congress records. This photograph dates to the 1960s-1970s. The reverse of the sheet stamped “Reproduced from the Collections of the Library of Congress.” and has the title of the work handwritten in pencil on the reverse.

American photographer John Vachon was a vital contributor to the FSA photo archives and left a profound historical legacy documenting the suffering left by the great depression. Throughout rural areas in plain states and the South. Vachon got his start with the FSA through Arthur Rothstein, accompanying Rothstein on one of his photographic assignments.
