Vermont Farmer Photograph

This silver gelatin photograph of a Vermont Farmer for sale is by Lewis Wicks Hine (American, 1824-1940): This image was originally from the collection of the George Eastman House in Rochester, NY. It was part of a deaccessioned collection from Eastman that became part of an extensive private collection of black and white American photographs detailing the American experience during the first half of the 20th century.

The silver gelatin photograph dated to the 1960s-1970s. A man stands amid a mound of hay on the side of a barn, holding a pitchfork in his right hand. The man is dressed in overalls and a straw hat.
