Shop this vintage abstract expressionist art print for sale entitled “En Et” and dated 1967. The color etching w/ aquatint by artist Nick De Matties and dedicated to the artist Lettrio Calapai. During the Great Depression of the 1930s, Letterio Calapai worked as a realist painter and printer as part of the Federal Arts Project -Works Progress Administration created and influenced a generation of printmakers and artists.
Artist De Matties was born on October 13 in the Hawaiian capital of Honolulu on October 13, 1939. He is a painter, printmaker, and educator. His official education included time at Long Beach State College and the Chicago Institute of Design, where he received a Master’s Degree in printing. He lives in Los Angeles. Dick Swift and Misch Kohn were two of his professors who had a significant impact on his work. In the late 1950s or early 1960s, De Matties was a member of the Atelier 17 collective in Paris.
