Shop this Cyples black basalt Staffordshire teapot for sale. The antique teapot dates to the early 19th Century. The teapot is decorated with an ebonized hue and a relief-decorated rococo-style floral frieze. The spout is further decorated with acanthus leaves on the spout. The underside of the teapot is stamped Cyples. The lid features a large lion/dog finial. From around 1784 until 1840, the company Cyples was known as the Cyples family of Market Street, Lane End, Stoke-on-Trent. They are most known for their production of earthenware and Egyptian Black pottery and ceramics.
