Shop this Chinese Blanc De Chine sculpture of a seated figure for sale. This antique Chinese ceramic sculpture dates to the 18th century, Qing dynasty of the Kangxi period. The seated figure presumed to be the subject of the figure Wenchang Wang, also known as Wenchang Dijun, is a Taoist deity in Chinese mythology revered as the God of Culture and Literature. He is also known as the God of Literature and Culture. Sometimes he’s referred to as Wen Qu, or simply Wen, depending on the situation. It is common to see Wenchang Wang depicted as an elderly scholar accompanied by two attendants, Tianlong (also known as Heaven-Deaf) and Diya (also known as Earth-Mute). His services have traditionally been sought after by academics and writers who require inspiration or assistance just before an exam.
