Carved in an onyx black veined marble with vanilla streaks, this pair of vases matches a neoclassical french style or a modern contemporary interior. The patined metal stands, reminiscent of 18th-century Rocco bronzes, in the manner of Louis XV French ornament and in the sculpture of Juste-Aurele Meissonnier, add a characteristic and robust element to the marble’s black onyx palette. The marble vases were carved 20th century, and the stand possibly also of the period or slightly before.
These remain an excellent pair of highly decorative and stunning vases ideal for flower decoration or as stand-alone tall vases for tabletop decor. They came to us from an estate near the Cleveland area, and they had been acquired from an interior decorator in New York City in the 1980s.

Dimensions
Each vase has a height of 15.75 inches and measures 8.25 inches in height measures from the bases. Each vessel measures 4.75 inches in diameter at each rim and 4.50 inches in diameter at each base.
Condition
Each marble vase displays minor chipping and abrasions, each with underside marked catalog numbering, the mounts possibly earlier, with oxidation, and heavy tarnish, each possibly with a patinated layer. Please note, these vases are extremely heavy, and as such, we recommend these vases should be placed on a stable surface.
