Shop this 19th-century bird calligraphy wall art ink drawing. Dating to the Victorian era, circa the 1860s, the reverse of this freehand figural bird study, entitled “The penman’s assistant.” The dove on the front is depicted in an elegant wave. The drawing is in the Fraktur calligraphy script, associated with the German Pennsylvania dutch folk artworks. This original ink on paper drawing has come to us from a New England collection.
