Decorated in a traditional Japanese Arita ware, named after the town in which it is made in, blue and white style with origins that go back to the 17th century, this bowl with high rimmed sides would be fine for holding potpourri or other dried organic decorative and fragrant materials, fruit, or, left as is for a warm and inviting underglaze blue color palette. The underside of the bowl displays 19th-century Arita ware underglaze blue seal marks and a semi-lobbed rim and with a medallion in the center of the bowl. This bowl came to us from a Ne England collection.
