Pink ojime necklace bead. Japanese antique glass. Circa nineteenth-twentieth century, circa Meiji era- Taisho era. It is decorated in deep green and copper aventurine decoration.
Ojime, also known as sagemono or inro beads, traditionally was used as a functional ornament for the carrying of valuables. Today they are commonly used to make necklaces or bracelets for jewelry making.
