The transfer decorated plate with a landscape image of The Palais des Beaux-Arts de Lille, a museum dedicated to fine arts, modern art, and antiquities and one of the largest art museums in France.
The plate further features a cream-white ground, and the edge of the plate features a thick yellow glazed rim with black lines. Referred to as creil-montereau faience, the plate features a lead-glazed earthenware made in the French communes of Creil, Oise, and of Montereau. Creil ware sought to emulate the creamware of Wedgwood and is a wonderful addition to a variety of interior decor styles.
