Composed of pen, ink, and wash, this study examines the ornaments and structure and characteristic of Medieval Gothic architecture and is composed of a steeply pitched gable, with elaborate barge boards and pendant. The lower right edge inscription marked Reading, Berks, for the Berkshires. The reverse of this study displays an additional partial sketch in a lesser degree of detail. No artist is attributed to this work, and it falls under the guide of belonging to the British school, circa the 18/19th century.

The drawing edges have been trimmed. The paper displays evidence of toning and oxidation. The reverse of the paper shows previous mounting residue.
