Japanese antique hairpin. Meiji era, 19th century, Circa 1880-1890. Lacquer decoration with gold hiramaki-e on a nashiji or adventurine sparkle. The pin detaches the center with an internal pin mechanism. The hairpin ends are further embellished with mother of pearl inlaid bamboo leaves.

Condition
The hairpin has light wear and surface loss. Condition consistent with age.
