This watercolor is done by renowned artist R.W. Ware and was created in 1987, the year the lighthouse was was added to the National Register of Historic Places. Ware is mostly known for his works or New England, such as Massachusetts, Vermont, and New Hampshire, and areas of New York State. His style of depicting scenic landscape art, farmhouses, beach scenes, and images associated with the simple life of New England in the formats of oil on canvas, watercolors, and graphite on paper drawings.
Ware is an artist familiar to the Gloucester, Massachusetts, and Cape Ann community and has produced works of art based on his time spent there.
