This John Vachon Parade Photograph for sale, formally titled “Watching Armistice Day Parade, Omaha Nebraska,” dates to 1938. Vachon joined the Farm Security Administration (FSA) in 1937, and became a member of the FSA’s regular photographic staff, and produced photographs, pictures taken of daily life throughout the Plains states and further document the conditions of rural America.
This silver gelatin print photograph is dated to the late 1960s-1970s. The reverse of the sheet with an official stamp “REPRODUCED FROM THE COLLECTIONS OF THE LIBRARY OF CONGRESS” and a handwritten pencil catalog number 13 10-5, with the title and artist name written in pencil.
