Product Information
Shop this old Miami Beach house photograph by FSA photographer Marion Post Wolcott, 1910-1990. Marion Post Wolcott, a superb American photographer, set out to chronicle the sufferings of the poor throughout the midwest and deep south on assignment for the FSA and director Roy Stryker. In contrast to the photos of rural poverty, Wolcott captured the opulence of areas that appeared to have escaped the Great Depression undamaged. Wolcott captured classic and enduring photos of classic Miami, Florida, during the late 1930’s golden era. While attempting to depict the difference between what appears to be two nations under one flag, one of the wealthy and another of the poor, her classic black and white images of Miami, Florida, and Miami Beach remain treasures of American photography with vintage classic appeal.
