Shop this Sunday school picnic photograph for sale by FSA/WPA American photographer Marion Post Wolcott. This silver gelatin print photograph dates to the 1960s-1970s and is stamped “Reproduced from the collections of the Library of Congress” on the reverse. According to the Library of Congress, the photograph includes the photograph’s title in pencil with a date of 1936; the photograph was captured in September 1938 and achieved as LC-USF33- 030136-M4 in the Library of Congress collections and a photograph from the Farm Security Administration archives – Office of War Information Photograph Collection.
The photograph was taken by prolific American photographer Wolcott, Marion Post, 1910-1990, for the FSA and part of the WPA era of artists and photographers known for documenting the poverty and deprivation of the great depression through rural and small-town America.
