The black and white image depicts houses, railroad tracks, and bridge trussing from Easton, Pennsylvania. The center motif shows a large Pennsylvania Railroad sign center. The sheet’s reverse retains an official label “REPRODUCED FROM THE COLLECTIONS OF THE LIBRARY OF CONGRESS” and a handwritten pencil catalog number. American photographer Walker Evans was best known for his (FSA) Farm Security Administration work. He documented the effects of the Great Depression throughout rural communities and the deep South.
