This hardwood carved vase stand dates to the late 19th or early 20th century, circa 1900, or formally known as the Guangxu period of the late Qing dynasty.
This vase stand came to us from a long-time collector of Chinese art and antiques in the area of Austin, Texas. The openwork scrolling that forms the upper section of this stand is a true inspiration in line with the fine zitan and huanghuali furniture of the Ming and Qing dynasties. The underside of the four-legged stand also displays a revolving ring that acts as additional support for objects.
