Berndt Friberg was a Swedish ceramic designer who was born in 1899. He is well-known for his perfectionist nature, delicate forms, and magnificent glazes. Berndt worked for the Gustavsberg factory from 1934-1981, and during that time, he created many iconic pieces of pottery. Some of his most famous designs include the “Blue Lace” vase and the “Floral” plate. Friberg’s work is characterized by its clean lines and simple shapes. He often used muted colors and classic motifs, which helped to make his work timeless. Today, Berndt Friberg’s ceramics are highly sought-after by collectors and displayed in museums worldwide. This diminutive vase is decorated in an ochre yellow-green, a unique vintage mid-century modern vase for any interior. The underside of the vase is incised, “Friberg”.
