Inscribed “Princess Rosebud Rose, Chief Yellow Rose, Sioux -O Neil photo.” The misspelling of names referred to Rosebud Yellow Robe and her father, Chauncey Yellow Robe, a founder of the Society of American Indians, the first national American Indian rights organization.
