The drawing reflects illustration art created during the early 20th century during the WPA Federal Art Project. This program represented the first major attempt at government patronage of the visual arts in the United States during the Depression of the 1930s by President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s administration. The watercolor painting is composed of soft rosy tones and hues and is created with watercolor, ink, pencil on artist board.
