Product Information
Sonia Delaunay (1885-1979) was a Ukrainian-born artist who became one of the leading figures of the Parisian avant-garde in the early twentieth century. A prolific painter, draftsman, textile designer, and photographer, her work was characterized by bold colors and geometric forms. In addition to her paintings, she is best known for her production of woven fabrics and fashion designs, which were often informed by her interest in color theory. Delaunay’s work anticipated many of the key themes of the Modernist movement, and she played a significant role in the development of abstract art. Today, her work is recognized as some of the most innovative and influential of the early twentieth century.
